Jonathan Encarnacion
Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer, Finanta
Jonathan Encarnacion, the Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer of Finanta Credit Union, is an experienced leader with a diverse background in finance, healthcare, and community development. In his current role, he provides strategic direction and leadership for the credit union’s branch network and lending operations.
Prior to joining Finanta Credit Union, Encarnacion served as the Senior Director for UPMC Health Plan, where he was instrumental in expanding the Medicaid program across the Lehigh Capital, Northeast, and Southeast regions of Pennsylvania.
Encarnacion’s dedication to public service is reflected in his numerous gubernatorial appointments. In 2023, he was appointed by Governor Josh Shapiro to chair the Board of Trustees for Wernersville State Hospital. His involvement in key advisory roles, including the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs (GACLA) under the Shapiro, Wolf, and Ridge administrations, demonstrates his commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in government.
He is actively involved in several community organizations, holding significant leadership positions. Encarnacion serves as the Chair of the Berks Latino Workforce Development Corporation, and Vice Chair of the Regional Foundation. He also contributes to historical preservation as the Vice Chair of the National Civil War Museum.
Encarnacion holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Alvernia University. He has further enhanced his leadership skills through fellowships at Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Business School.
Mr. Encarnacion remains deeply committed to community development and serving underserved populations. His extensive background and dedication to public service position him as a strategic leader in the growth and development of the communities he serves.
